    MIAMI and PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, March 6 // -- The Barcelo Punta Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic announces the completion of an extensive renovation to its public spaces, guest rooms, and outdoor recreation areas including the addition of a new pool, a new children's pool with slides and fountains, a new spa and a new theater facility. This $14 million dollar renovation project makes this beachfront, all-inclusive property a Premium level hotel within the Barcelo portfolio and upgrades the guest experience to a luxury resort level.

    Guests can now enjoy a second large swimming pool and its adjacent children's play pool that is decorated with animals and water slides. In addition, there is a new Tex-Mex restaurant, El Mirador, which is a Beach Front Grill with indoor and outdoor seating adjacent to the new swimming pool area.

    The all-inclusive resort offers a total of 795 guest rooms. All of the 300 deluxe category guestrooms enjoy ocean views and have just been renovated with new soft goods and plush bedding. These deluxe guestrooms feature a contemporary design, new furniture and flooring, and spa-style bathrooms with walk-in showers and freestanding fixtures. In addition, these guestrooms have all been fitted with flat screen TVs.

    The resort's theater has been rebuilt in a new location to serve as a multi-purpose venue for entertainment, group meetings and events.
